Unfortunately, my region has been hit quite badly by Cyclone Gabrielle on the morning of 14 February 2023, with a state of emergency declared in Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. The scale of destruction left by the cyclone in Hawke's Bay and several other regions across New Zealand is unbelievable.
We've lots of cleaning up to do due to the flooding, strong winds and all. It's a pretty stressful time for us. Still, we're extremely lucky to have had minimal damage to our house and belongings. Others weren't so lucky; they lost their belongings, houses, and livelihoods overnight. I found out that a few lives were lost, too. To everyone here in Hawke's Bay and other regions affected across the country, I hope your family and yourselves are safe and well. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Take good care.
If you're able to help, please do so. Many could use a helping hand and/or a donation (such as canned food, bottled water, clean clothing and bedding, gas, batteries, generators, medicines, etc) to ease their burden and aid their road to recovery. I try to help as much as I can too and I take this opportunity to thank you for your understanding, patience, and kind support. Arohanui and kia kaha, New Zealand. Xx
